Our school ceolchoirm March 2017
AN CEOLCHoIRM 2017
Before
the ceolchoirm started ,all of the
classes came to the hall and got our seats for the concert. After we got our
seats our parents ,grandparents and other relations came into the hall. Then Cormac and Mark welcomed everyone and the choir sang
Bi Iosa im chroíse and Tá na báid . When the choir sang 1st class
said an irish poem and 2nd class were singing and dancing to the
irish version of Uptown funk. The choir then sang Gur thanig tú and Pegin leitr
mór. After that the 5th and 6th Drama club preformed a
very funny play followed by a selection of irish tunes by our amazing trad
group with Ms Ní Lochlainn and Mrs O Harte. Mark and Cormac talked for a while
and then Keelin, Katie, Erin, Rachel C, Maria, Hollie, Rachel H, and I all did
irish dancing . Then the junior infants did the Hacka . At the end everyone sang the national anthem
. Some children got to home early. It was a great day.

An Ceolchuirim 2017
Yesterday we celebrated St . Patrick’s day two days
before it happened.
We had a couple of weeks preparation. Nearly every day
we had choir and grúpa ceoil.
Fourth class were doing some lovely Irish artwork
based on the words” Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine “ and in English
that means “we work better together”. The choir had many songs to sing and
everybody done something on the stage . The grúpa ceoil had seven songs running into each other , Mo
Ghile Mar , Maggie in the woods ,One thing , Spancil hill , Rachel Cooper’s
Solo, Eye Level and the Clare Polka. Loads of parents came and many others
watched the stream online . 5th and 6th class preformed a
play in Irish called na trí muca or in English the three little pigs. At the
end we all sang the national anthem.

AN
CEOLCHUIRM 2017
Yesterday we had a ceolchoirm in the hall and our
parents came. There was lovely artwork
on the walls of the hall from St. Patrick’s day art to Chinese dragons. So
anyway first the choir sang two songs and then 5th and 6th sang a song and preformed a poem on the stage. Then Cormac and Marc introduced
some of the other classes on to the stage to sing songs and to say poems. After
that the choir and trad group sang songs and played music with the help of Miss
Ni Lochlainn, Mrs O Heart ,
Miss Smith and Miss Lalor. A while after that some of 5th and 6th
preformed a drama. Next some of the girls from our class did Irish dancing. (my
dad )Rory Mc Mahon live streamed us and
put it up on Clones notice board. Later on we sang Amhrán na bhfiann together.
Some people were allowed to go home early after the ceolchoirm. It was great
fun.
